North Richland Hills, Texas is a suburb of Forth Worth. Situated in Tarrant County, the city is home to a population bigger than 66,000 people. In 2006, Money Magazine named North Richland Hills as amongst the nation's "Top 100 Best Places to live in America". Now it is the third largest city in Tarrant County. The city is believed to soon become amongst the fastest growing cities in northern Texas.
There are some major highways and streets which run through the city of North Richland Hills, including Mid Cities Boulevard, Davis Boulevard, Loop-820, Bedford-Euless Road, [precinct Line Road and North Tarrant Parkway. Situated within the city is the Birdville Independent School District as well as sections of the Keller Independent School District. Several of the Texas Exemplary Schools are situated within these two thriving public school chains.
The town's history dates back to 1848, when W.S. Peters brought 600 families to the area as part of a land grant. The city of North Richland Hills was established officially during the year 1849 and was named after General Edward H. Tarrant. Birdville, which is a different city situated right beside North Richland Hills southern border, was initially named the County Seat. The area continued to sustain itself as a rural farming and ranching community for the next 100 years.
The city boasts many attractions around and in the city, such as the Sid Richardson Collection of Western Art, the NRH20 Waterpark, Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington Museum of Art, Fort Worth Zoo, and the Fort Worth Museum of History. The waterpark is home to numerous waterslides along with an artificial ocean. There are some other parks located within North Richland Hills, such as North Richland Hills City Park, Fossil Creek Park, Norich Park and Richfield Park. The biggest shopping mall in the city of North Richland Hills is The North Hills Shopping Center.
